Complete list of
amphibious cars
There were many more than you imagine. Click here to find a most complete list of all amphibious cars ever built. Most are private ventures, but none the less, genius designed. High speed performance on water, amphibious motorhome versions or best off-road abilities were challenges for inventors during the last hundred years. Some were successful, some not. Even the successful inventors earned nothing but laughters! Lack of financial backing and ironic press releases left them nearly forgotten!
Trippels cars Only one man never gave up on making his amphibious idea public: Hanns Trippel. He started to built amphibians in 1934 at the age of 26. Sadly he died in 2001. Here is the complete list of all his cars and prototypes he built in his life.
Check out the new video about Trippel and his cars!

Meanwhile, my collection grown to a respectable archives of some thousand paper articles, photos, drawings, test reports and films. The essence of this archives now is puplished in a book called "Mit dem Auto baden gehen", René Pohl, Heel-Verlag, Königswinter ISBN 3893657029, limited edition.
This and other amphibious car related books can be found and directly ordered here.

About me If you wish to know who is this crazy guy collecting all this stuff, here is some personal background on me.
My cars It is probably no surprise I drive an amphibious car. Nothing special - it´s an Amphicar. But I also have fun with an 1986 LuAZ 967m (light amphibious Russian Jeep). Let me introduce my cars...
Models I have inserted a list of amphibious car models. I believe some of you would like to know where to get a nice detailed 1/43 scale Amphicar, or a 1/35 scale Trippel SG 6/41.
Reports Occasionally there some big events no Amphib enthusiast should miss. From previous events/meetings I took pictures to show what you may have missed.
News  Here you´ll find the latest important news of the amphibious szene. If you notice something else important, please let me know to keep this page updated.

Have you ever seen an Amphicar planing on water? Well, it is possible - at least for a few seconds if you´re entering water at 35 mph. Watch this:
